If you’ve tried to book an ActiveSG pickleball court for a weekday evening, you’ve probably met the ballot. Peak slots aren’t first come, first served any more: you ballot 14 days ahead and hope. Non-peak slots and anything left over go on sale at 12pm, 12 days ahead, and the good ones go fast.

This post explains exactly how that works, then covers the other ways to get on court in Singapore: SAFRA, community clubs, free HDB courts and private venues, with what each costs.

Your options at a glance

Option Typical price per court per hour How to book
ActiveSG sport halls and courts S$3.50–12.50 MyActiveSG+ app, with Singpass
SAFRA clubs S$3.30–30, depending on club and membership SAFRA website or app (members); guests walk in
HDB estate courts Free No booking, first come first served
Private venues About S$12–48 Each venue’s own app or booking site

Prices were checked in October 2026. Sources are linked in each section and listed at the end.

Booking ActiveSG courts

ActiveSG runs Singapore’s public sports facilities. Its pickleball courts are booked through the MyActiveSG+ app or website, where you log in with Singpass and can pay with ActiveSG credits. There are about 80 or more public pickleball courts on the system (Time Out Singapore).

What it costs

ActiveSG charges per court per hour. These are its published rates, last updated 25 August 2026 (ActiveSG):

Court Citizens and PRs: non-peak / peak Others: non-peak / peak
Indoor S$3.50 / S$7.40 S$4.60 / S$9.70
Outdoor S$4.50 / S$9.50 S$5.90 / S$12.50

ActiveSG’s rate page labels the two columns “Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident” and “Standard Rate”. An indoor pickleball court costs the same as a standard badminton court. Each user can book at most two pickleball slots a day, whatever the timing (ActiveSG).

Peak hours are Monday to Friday, 6pm to 10pm, and 7am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays. Non-peak hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm.

How the ballot and release work

ActiveSG’s own FAQ sets out two rules (ask.gov.sg):

  • Peak slots are balloted. You can ballot 14 days before the date you want, any time from 12am to 11.59pm that day. Results are sent the next day, and winners are picked at random. This applies to all peak slots at all facilities (ask.gov.sg).
  • Non-peak slots and unclaimed ballot slots are released 12 days ahead, at 12pm. These are first come, first served, and you can book them right up to the slot itself.

Here’s how that plays out for one day, Wednesday 28 October 2026:

You want When to act What happens
8pm (peak) Any time on Wednesday 14 October You enter the ballot. Results come on 15 October.
8pm, if you lost the ballot 12pm on Friday 16 October Any peak slots nobody won are released, first come first served.
2pm (non-peak) 12pm on Friday 16 October Instant booking opens, first come first served.

Weekends and public holidays are peak from 7am, so almost every weekend slot goes through the ballot.

Step by step

  1. Download MyActiveSG+ and log in with Singpass.
  2. Search for pickleball and pick a venue and date.
  3. For a peak slot, place a ballot on the day the window opens (14 days ahead). For a non-peak slot, be ready at 12pm, 12 days ahead.
  4. Check the app the next day for ballot results, and pay for any slot you win.
  5. If you lose the ballot, try again for leftover slots at 12pm two days later.

Sport Singapore said in July 2026 that the ballot doesn’t take your previous attempts into account, and that there are no plans to change it. It also said it plans to build 50 multi-purpose courts for badminton or pickleball over the next five years (MCCY).

The Little India courts

ActiveSG Courts @ Farrer Park has eight pickleball courts in the sheltered waiting area of Little India Bus Terminal, 5A Race Course Road, about six minutes’ walk from Little India MRT. They’re open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 9pm, and booked through MyActiveSG+. On Sundays the space goes back to being a bus terminal (Time Out Singapore).

Other public options

The Kallang (Sports Hub) courts

The Kallang, the sports precinct around the National Stadium at 1 Stadium Drive, has outdoor pickleball courts that you book on its own website, not MyActiveSG+. Singapore Citizens and PRs pay S$5.50 non-peak and S$10 peak, with photo ID, and others pay S$8.50 and S$15.50. Non-peak is weekdays 7am to 6pm, and peak is weekdays 6pm to 10pm and all day at weekends. The catch is the hours: courts 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B are open on weekdays from 7am to 6pm only, so evening and weekend play is on courts 3A and 3B (The Kallang). OCBC said in October 2025 that a programme it backs would open eight new outdoor courts at the Sports Hub to the public from January 2026, and turn some junior tennis and basketball courts nearby into shared courts (OCBC).

SAFRA

SAFRA members can play at three clubs. At SAFRA Jurong and Yishun, you book a tennis court and play over the higher tennis net, at S$3.30 an hour off-peak for members (S$7.20 peak at Jurong, S$6.60 at Yishun) and S$5.10 off-peak for guests. SAFRA Tampines has dedicated pickleball courts, at S$15 off-peak and S$20 peak for members, and S$23 and S$30 for guests. Online booking is for members only, one week ahead, with slots refreshed at 1pm daily; guests can only walk in. All three clubs were lending paddles and balls free with a booking as a limited-time offer (SAFRA).

Community clubs

Some community clubs have pickleball lines on their indoor badminton courts, and onePA lists pickleball interest groups and beginner clinics run by clubs and residents’ networks. We couldn’t confirm current onePA court rates for pickleball, so check the club’s onePA page before you go.

Free HDB courts

Several HDB estates have free courts that you can’t book: you turn up and play. Examples include Choa Chu Kang Central and Serangoon North Avenue 3 (TheSmartLocal). Bring your own net, paddles and balls, and expect to share with badminton players.

The catch is the hours. The Municipal Services Office received 701 complaints about pickleball noise in HDB estates between January 2024 and August 2025, and several town councils now limit when you can play, with some courts closing as early as 8pm or 9pm (MustShareNews, MustShareNews). Check the notice at the court, and be considerate of the blocks around it.

Private venues

Private venues cost more, but they’re easier to book, and many are sheltered or air-conditioned. Each uses its own booking app. Listed alphabetically:

Venue Area Courts Off-peak / peak (S$ per hour) Booking
Kings Pickleball Arena Outram 4 outdoor, floodlit S$24–42 weekdays, S$30–42 weekends Rezerv, via the venue website
Play! Pickle Serangoon Serangoon 4 air-conditioned, plus 1 singles court S$38 / S$48; singles court S$18 / S$28 CourtReserve, up to 15 days ahead
Smashing Pickle Club Jurong Play Grounds 7 shaded outdoor S$12 (weekdays 12–3pm), S$18 other weekday daytime, S$32 peak Smashing’s website
The ARK Sports Village Bukit Panjang 5 sheltered From S$20 The ARK’s website
The Sports Arina Singapore Expo Hall 7 14 air-conditioned Weekdays S$25 (7–11am, aircon off), S$30 (11am–6pm), S$40 (6–11pm); weekends S$35–40 Playtomic
TSA @ Jalan Kayu Jalan Kayu 10 air-conditioned S$25 / S$35; verified residents S$20 / S$31.50 Playtomic

Prices were checked in October 2026. Kings, Play! Pickle, Smashing Pickle Club and The ARK are from their own websites. The two Sports Arina venues are from MissLobang (updated 5 October 2026), because we couldn’t find their rates on a page of their own. Play! Pickle’s Punggol venue closes after a farewell open play on 30 October 2026 (Play! Pickle).

A few things differ from ActiveSG:

  • Booking windows are shorter or tied to membership. At Smashing Pickle Club, members can book two weeks ahead and the public one week ahead. Members also pay less (S$14 off-peak, S$25 peak) for S$50 a month.
  • Paddle rental is usually available. Kings charges S$5 a paddle per use, and MissLobang puts Play! Pickle at S$5 a paddle per hour. Smashing Pickle Club rents a set of two paddles and three balls for S$10 a day.
  • Cancellation rules are the venue’s own. Read them in the app before you pay.

Tips for getting a slot

  • Aim for non-peak. A weekday 2pm court is S$3.50 indoors and doesn’t need a ballot.
  • Ballot every day you can play. Each date has its own ballot, so spreading your entries gives you more chances.
  • Set an alarm for 11.55am. Released slots are first come, first served, so be ready when they open.
  • Use a private venue for a fixed weekly game. It costs more, but you can book without a ballot.
  • Join open play if you don’t have four players. Many groups book the courts and sell places per person. Our guide to how open play works explains what to expect.

If courts are hard to get this month, some Singaporeans play in Johor Bahru, where courts were listed at about RM20–70 an hour in 2025 (TheSmartLocal). Our guide to pickleball in Johor Bahru covers the venues and the trip. And if you’re new to the game, the rules guide will get you through your first booking.
