Disclosure: Arena, the company that builds Soft Serve Society, also builds the booking app for 91pickleball, one of the venues mentioned here. Every venue in this post is described the same way.
An outdoor court at 2pm in Kuala Lumpur is hard work, and an evening storm can wash out a booking you paid for. If you want to play whatever the weather, you have three kinds of court to choose from, and they aren’t the same thing:
- Air-conditioned: an enclosed hall with air-conditioning. These are the coolest, and mostly in Petaling Jaya and Subang.
- Indoor: an enclosed hall or warehouse. You stay dry, but it can still be warm, and the venue doesn’t say it’s air-conditioned.
- Covered: a roof over an open-sided court. It keeps off sun and most rain, but you’re still in the outdoor heat.
Below, each type has its own table, using only what the venue’s own page or booking listing says. Where a listing just says “court” without saying indoor or covered, we’ve left the venue out. Full details for each venue (stations, booking rules, paddle rental) are in our area guides for Kuala Lumpur, Cheras and Petaling Jaya and Subang.
Prices are per court per hour: the cheapest weekday daytime rate, then the weekday evening rate. Weekends usually cost the evening rate. Prices were checked in October 2026, and each venue’s source is linked.
Air-conditioned courts
| Venue | Area | Courts | Off-peak / peak (RM/hr) | Book on | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 91 Pickleball Clubhouse USJ1 | USJ 1, Subang Jaya | 18 | 40 / 70 | GoodPlay | No refunds, cancellations or rescheduling |
| Base Pickleball & Padel | Section 51, PJ | Not stated | 45 / 55 (social court) | Courtsite | Lists air-conditioning as a facility, but doesn’t say every court is cooled. Social courts have narrow side spacing |
| Pickle Date Club | Kota Damansara | 3 cooled VIP courts | 45 (2+ hours, weekdays) / not listed | Courtsite | Only the 3 VIP courts are air-conditioned |
| Picks & Rec | Section 51A, PJ | 6 | 39 / 65 | Bookeo | No cancellations. Maximum 3 hours per booking |
| Tomaz Pickleball Club | USJ 1, Subang Jaya | 14 | Not listed publicly | Courtsite | Training courts have low ceilings |
Air-conditioned courts cost about the same as a good covered court: RM39 to RM50 in a weekday afternoon and RM65 to RM70 in the evening. The cheapest cool hours are weekday afternoons, at Picks & Rec (RM39 from 8am to 5pm) and 91 Pickleball Clubhouse USJ1 (RM40 from noon to 5pm).
We didn’t find a venue in KL proper or Cheras whose own page says its courts are air-conditioned. Several have indoor halls, listed next.
Indoor courts (air-conditioning not stated)
| Venue | Area | Indoor courts | Off-peak / peak (RM/hr) | Book on | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Confucian KL Sports Centre | Salak Selatan, KL | 2 | 20 / 35 | Courtsite | No weekday play before 5pm |
| Las Palmas Pickleball Club | Universiti Malaya, KL | 1 | 50 to 90 | Courtsite | Just one indoor court. The other nine are outdoors |
| P3 Courts @ Midah | Taman Midah, Cheras | 4 | 30 / 55 | Courtsite | Small, so evenings fill fast |
| Pickle Valley | Setapak, KL | 5 | 40 / 60 | Courtsite | The counter shuts at midnight, though courts run to 3am |
| Spin City Courts | Great Eastern Mall, Ampang | Not stated | 60 / 80 (30% off in Oct 2026) | Courtsite | High normal rate, and RM10 paddle rental |
| Sports Seven Setapak | Wangsa Maju, KL | 3 | 35 / 50 | Courtsite | Only 3 courts |
| The Ball House | Taman Midah, Cheras | 3 | 28 / 58 | Courtsite | Weekday evenings cost more than at its neighbour, P3 |
An indoor hall is the cheapest way to stay out of the rain. Confucian in Salak Selatan, at RM20 to RM35, is the cheapest we found. At Pickle Valley you can see the difference in price for yourself: its indoor courts cost RM5 to RM10 more than its outdoor ones.
Covered courts (open-sided)
| Venue | Area | Covered courts | Covered price, off-peak / peak (RM/hr) | Uncovered price at the same venue | Book on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KL City Pickleball | Zebra Square, KL | 4 listed | 48 / 76 | None listed | Courtsite |
| KL Pickleball Town | Maluri, Cheras | Some of 5 | 30 (weekend day) / 45 | 20 / 35 | Courtsite |
| P’ker Park | Taman Dagang, Ampang Jaya | Some of 6 | 30 / 38 | 25 / 33 | Courtsite |
| Pickle Depot | Sentul, KL | All | 60 / 80 | None | Own website |
| Pickle Point | Sungai Penchala, KL | 5 | 50 / 70 | 35 / 55 | Playbypoint |
| Pickle Social Club | Bukit Kiara, KL | 4 | 50 / 70 (+8% SST) | 35 / 55 | Playbypoint |
| Tropickle Club | Jalan Ampang, Ampang Jaya | Some of 9 | 40 / 75 | 40 / 60 | Courtsite |
| Urban Pickle | Jalan Tun Razak, KL | 6 | 50 / 85 | 40 / 75 | Courtsite |
The roof usually costs RM5 to RM15 an hour more than the open court next to it. That’s often worth it for a 5pm booking, when the court has been in the sun all afternoon.
Two of these venues aren’t in our area guides, because they’re in Ampang Jaya, Selangor:
- Tropickle Club (Jalan Ampang, Kampung Melayu Ampang) has 9 courts. Covered and outdoor courts both cost RM40 before 4pm, then RM75 covered and RM60 outdoor. It opens from 8am on weekdays and 7am at weekends. Paddles are RM5 and balls RM8. The catch is that parking is paid.
- P’ker Park (Jalan Dagang B/3A, Taman Dagang) has 6 courts. Covered courts cost RM38 in the morning and evening, and RM30 from 1pm to 7pm. Outdoor courts cost RM33 and RM25. Two paddles and a ball come with every booking. The catch is that the cheapest covered slot is the hottest part of the day.
When an outdoor court is fine
You don’t always need to pay for a roof. Early mornings and late evenings are cooler, and many outdoor courts are cheapest then. Lavana 3 in Kepong charges RM25 from 11pm. The ones to avoid are midday to late afternoon outdoors, especially during a heatwave.
MetMalaysia issues heatwave alerts when the daily maximum stays at 35°C to 37°C (Level 1) or 37°C to 40°C (Level 2) for at least three days in a row, and it advises limiting direct sun. In March 2026, seven districts in the north of the peninsula were on Level 2. On those days, book indoors or play after dark.
For rain, read the venue’s rain policy before you book an outdoor court. Pickle Point publishes one on its booking page. Several venues in these guides, including 91 Pickleball Clubhouse USJ1 and Picks & Rec, don’t refund bookings at all.
