If you’re looking for a pickleball court in Kuching, you’ll pay RM20 to RM45 an hour, which is less than in Kuala Lumpur or Penang. The two big dedicated centres, Pikabol and PicklePro, charge the same: RM35 on weekday daytimes and RM45 in the evening and at weekends. Smaller halls and the city council’s new courts cost less.

Kuching has no rail line, and its ART (Autonomous Rapid Transit) isn’t running yet: a pilot between Rembus and Stutong is due in the last quarter of 2026, the state transport minister said in May 2026, with full service in 2027. So plan on driving or taking a Grab. Below are seven Kuching venues we could confirm are running in 2026, grouped by area, and a short section on Miri at the end.

Prices were checked in October 2026, and are per court per hour. Each venue’s source is linked in its section and listed at the end.

Most of these venues book through Courtsite, a Malaysian court-booking app, and almost all Courtsite venues here have the same policy: no refunds, and one change to your booking with 12 to 48 hours’ notice. Our guide to booking apps in Malaysia walks through it.

Kuching city and the south side

Pikabol

  • Area: Off Jalan Pending, Sungai Kuap, in the Pending industrial area east of the city centre.
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab. There’s a large parking area outside.
  • Indoor or outdoor: Indoor, per its own site, which doesn’t say whether it’s air-conditioned.
  • Courts: 16.
  • How to book: On its website: choose a court, date and start time. It’s first come, first served, and the venue takes about 30 minutes to confirm. Or WhatsApp +60 12-416 2044. You don’t need to be a member.
  • Prices: Per its pricing page, RM35 on weekdays from 8am to 5pm, and RM45 on weekday evenings and all day at weekends and on public holidays. Court A1 costs RM15 an hour more.
  • Hours: 8am to 11pm Monday to Thursday, and to midnight Friday to Sunday.
  • Paddle rental: RM15 for a paddle and a ball, for the whole day. Balls alone are RM5.
  • The catch: You need a car to get to the industrial estate. The weekend rate applies all day, so there’s no cheap weekend morning. It’s also the home of the Borneo Pickleball International Tournament, so expect courts to be blocked during big events: the 2026 edition runs from 7 to 12 October, per the Sarawak Tribune. It has a pro shop, showers and a restaurant, but no dedicated prayer room.

PicklePro Kuching

  • Area: Tabuan Laru Family Club, Jalan Setia Raja, Tabuan Laru.
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab. There’s a car park.
  • Indoor or outdoor: Indoor. Aircon isn’t confirmed.
  • Courts: 8, on mat flooring, which the venue bills as East Malaysia’s first.
  • How to book: Courtsite, or WhatsApp +60 13-686 8557.
  • Prices: RM35 on weekdays from 8am to 5pm. RM45 on weekdays from 5pm to 11pm, and all day at weekends and on public holidays.
  • Hours: 8am to 11pm.
  • Paddle rental: Not confirmed. There’s a shop on site.
  • The catch: No refunds. You can change a booking once, with 48 hours’ notice.

Star Pickleball

  • Area: Off Jalan Tunku Ibrahim, near Taman Supreme.
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab.
  • Indoor or outdoor: Not confirmed.
  • Courts: At least 11. A March 2026 social session on Reclub used courts 9, 10 and 11.
  • How to book: Courtsite. You get a door passcode with your booking. Call 016-415 3541.
  • Prices: Not published on its listing. Social sessions run by clubs here cost about RM20 per person in 2026.
  • Hours: 8am to 1am, per its booking calendar.
  • Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
  • The catch: No refunds, and one change with 48 hours’ notice. It’s a newer centre, opened around February 2026, so there’s little published about the courts yet. It hosted the Freak Pickleball Championship in June 2026 and the Kuching leg of the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour in August 2026, so expect some weekends to be taken by events.

MBKS Sports Village

  • Area: Jalan Utama, Bintawa, run by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab.
  • Indoor or outdoor: A repainted multipurpose court, shared with badminton and netball. Whether it’s covered isn’t confirmed.
  • Courts: 2.
  • How to book: In person at Counter 7 in the MBKS lobby during office hours, or call 082-354200 and ask for the Property Section. An online system is planned.
  • Prices: RM30 an hour at any time, per the Borneo Post (June 2026).
  • Hours: 9am to 10pm daily, including public holidays.
  • Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
  • The catch: Only two courts, and you can only book during office hours.

Petra Jaya and the north bank

MUSCS Pickleball Arena

  • Area: Taman Lebunda, off Jalan Bako, Petra Jaya. It’s run by the Manchester United Supporters Club Sarawak.
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab. There’s a car park and a surau.
  • Indoor or outdoor: Not confirmed. Directories disagree on whether the courts are indoor or outdoor, and none says whether there’s a roof.
  • Courts: 3.
  • How to book: Courtsite, or WhatsApp +60 19-882 2594.
  • Prices: Non-member rates on its listing, effective from 1 January:
    • Weekdays: RM20 from 8am to noon, RM25 from noon to 4pm, RM35 from 4pm to 10pm
    • Weekends and public holidays: RM25 from 8am to 2pm, RM35 from 2pm to 10pm
    • Members pay less. The listing also still shows an older price table, so check the price at checkout.
  • Hours: 8am to 10pm.
  • Paddle rental: Paddles to rent or buy, subject to stock, per a directory listing. The price isn’t listed.
  • The catch: Only three courts, and it closes at 10pm. No refunds, and one change with 12 hours’ notice.

Dewan Kasba (Kampung Semariang Batu)

  • Area: The multipurpose village hall in Kampung Semariang Batu, north of the river.
  • Getting there: Drive or Grab.
  • Indoor or outdoor: A village hall shared with badminton. Aircon isn’t confirmed.
  • Courts: 3, per a search listing.
  • How to book: Courtsite, or call +60 17-807 5996.
  • Prices: RM25 an hour, every day.
  • Hours: 8am to midnight. It ran later hours during Ramadan in 2026.
  • Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
  • The catch: It’s a community hall rather than a pickleball centre, so expect shared space and basic facilities.

Kota Samarahan

Summer Pickleball Arena

  • Area: The R floor of The Summer Shopping Mall, Kota Samarahan. That’s about 25 to 30 minutes’ drive from central Kuching.
  • Getting there: Drive, with mall parking.
  • Indoor or outdoor: Not confirmed. Listings give the floor as “R” but don’t say whether the courts are under a roof.
  • Courts: 6.
  • How to book: Courtsite, or call +60 12-886 0448.
  • Prices: Weekdays RM25 from 10am to 5pm and RM30 from 5pm to 10pm. Weekends and public holidays RM30 from 10am to 5pm and RM35 from 5pm to 10pm.
  • Hours: 10am to 10pm.
  • Paddle rental: RM12 for a paddle and balls on weekdays and RM14 at weekends, per the Sarawak Tribune when it opened in January 2025. Check it’s still the same.
  • The catch: It’s far from the city, and we couldn’t confirm whether the courts are covered, so ask about heat and rain before you book. No refunds, and one change with 48 hours’ notice.

Which court should you try first?

For a proper pickleball centre with a full set of courts, start with Pikabol or PicklePro: same price, so pick the one closer to you. For the cheapest court-hour, MUSCS on a weekday morning (RM20) and Dewan Kasba (RM25) are the lowest we found. That’s about RM5 to RM6 each for a four, less than a plate of Sarawak laksa.

If you don’t have a group, join a social session. In Kuching these run on Reclub, the free app most local clubs use. Fortress Borneo is one active group that welcomes visitors. Our guide to how open play works explains what to expect.

Other Kuching venues we couldn’t confirm

Directories also list Winner Court in Everbright Park, Dink Zone in Matang Jaya, Nex Pickleball at The Podium, and a few badminton halls with pickleball lines. We couldn’t find 2026 evidence from the venues themselves, so we’ve left them out.

Playing in Miri

Miri is where Sarawak’s pickleball scene started, and it has a smaller set of courts of its own. These three are confirmed for 2026:

  • Paragon Pickleball Sports Centre, Jalan Maigold, Lutong. 8 indoor courts with a ventilation system (aircon isn’t stated). RM25 an hour on weekdays from 9am to 5pm, and RM38 after 5pm and at weekends. Paddles RM10 a session. Book on its website. It hosted the Santoh Master tournament in July 2026.
  • PickleStory at Champion Badminton. 2 indoor hard courts in a badminton hall. RM24 an hour on weekdays from 8am to 5pm, and RM36 in the evening and at weekends, per its price page. Book through AFA, from its booking page. Only two courts, so book early.
  • PK Ball Miri. 3 VIP courts and 4 standard courts, open 8am to 11pm daily, booked by WhatsApp on 011-5395 8282, per its Instagram. Prices aren’t in its profile, so ask when you book.
