If you want a pickleball court in Penang, you have plenty of choice. Most courts on the island are in George Town or around Bayan Baru, and the mainland has a cluster in Bukit Mertajam. On the island a court usually costs RM45 to RM75 an hour, and the mainland is cheaper. The main thing to decide is whether you want air-conditioning or can live with a covered hall and a fan.
Below are 12 venues we could confirm are running in 2026, with what each costs, how to book it, and the catch. We list the island first, from north to south, then the mainland.

Prices were checked in October 2026, and are per court per hour unless stated. Each venue’s source is linked in its section and listed at the end. Where a price comes from a venue’s Sports We Play booking calendar, it’s what the calendar charged for the slots we looked up on 10 October 2026, so check the booking page before you go.
Before you book: three things about Penang
There’s no rail on the island. Every venue below is a drive or a Grab ride. Traffic around George Town is heavy at rush hour, so leave extra time for an evening slot.
Aircon is the exception, not the rule. Pickle Lab says its courts are air-conditioned, and guides report aircon at PickleSky and Pickle Gen. Most of the big halls are covered but open to the air, which is fine at 8am and hard work at 2pm. October and November are also the wet season, and rain blows in at the sides of open halls.
Most island venues book through Sports We Play. It’s a Penang booking site and app used by Pickle By The Sea, Game On Pickle, PickleHaus, both G.O.A.T sites, Pickle Lab and Pickleland. Many of them sell evening slots in two-hour blocks. The Picker Pickle courts on the mainland use Courtsite. Our guide to booking apps in Malaysia walks through both.
George Town and the north of the island
Pickle By The Sea
- Area: Gurney Drive, on the reclaimed land about 200 m from Gurney Plaza.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. There’s a large car park on site.
- Indoor or outdoor: Covered by an open-sided canopy. No aircon.
- Courts: 14 standard courts plus 2 larger grandstand courts, on MAPEI flooring with JOOLA nets, according to its Sports We Play listing.
- How to book: “Book Now” on Sports We Play, or WhatsApp +60 16-451 5055.
- Prices: RM55 on weekdays before 5pm, and RM70 on weekday evenings and at weekends. A grandstand court is RM100 in the daytime and RM120 in the evening. These are the rates in its Sports We Play booking calendar, and they match PickleballInAsia’s Penang guide (updated October 2026). Weekday evening slots are sold in two-hour blocks.
- Hours: Its booking calendar shows slots from 8am to 1am. Guides list 7am to 2am, and one says it runs 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, so check if you want a very early or very late slot.
- Paddle rental: RM5, per PickleballInAsia.
- The catch: It’s the biggest venue on the island, but there’s no aircon and it gets hot on sunny afternoons. It also hosts big events, such as the World Pickleball Championship Penang leg in April 2026 and the APP Penang Open in July 2026, so courts can be blocked for days at a time.
Game On Pickle
- Area: Lot 188 Jalan Burma, Pulau Tikus.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. It has its own car park.
- Indoor or outdoor: Covered. Its Instagram bio says “10 covered tournament-standard courts”, its booking calendar labels every court “Covered Court”, and its Sports We Play listing calls them indoor. We couldn’t confirm whether the sides are open or whether there’s aircon.
- Courts: 10.
- How to book: Sports We Play, or call +60 14-911 6263.
- Prices: RM45 an hour in its Sports We Play booking calendar, for both a weekday morning and a Saturday night slot. Some slots must be booked two hours at a time.
- Hours: 8am to 11pm daily, per its Instagram bio and booking calendar.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: We couldn’t confirm how open the hall is to heat and rain. Ask before you book an afternoon slot.
PickleHaus by Iconic
- Area: Solok Macalister, off Jalan Macalister, central George Town.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. Parking is on site.
- Indoor or outdoor: Covered. Aircon isn’t confirmed.
- Courts: 6, per its Sports We Play listing.
- How to book: Sports We Play, or WhatsApp +60 16-426 7888.
- Prices: RM60 an hour on weekday daytimes and RM75 an hour on weekday evenings from 5pm, in its Sports We Play booking calendar. Evening slots are sold in two-hour blocks. We couldn’t see a weekend rate.
- Hours: 7am to midnight, per its booking calendar and PicklePedia’s Penang guide.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: It’s small, so at six courts it books out faster than the big halls in the evening. It’s also one of the dearer island venues.
G.O.A.T Pickle Club 3 (Sungai Pinang)
- Area: No. 30 Lengkok Sungai Pinang, Kampung Rawa.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab.
- Indoor or outdoor: Roofed, with ventilation fans. No aircon reported.
- Courts: 9, on MAPEI flooring.
- How to book: Sports We Play, or WhatsApp +60 11-2672 2499.
- Prices: On the six standard courts, RM55 on weekdays from 7am to 5pm and RM70 on weekday evenings and at weekends. The three VIP courts are RM85 at any time. These are from the club’s Sports We Play listing.
- Hours: 7am to midnight, per the same listing and PicklePedia.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: One guide calls the hall dim, and the viewing gallery was unfinished in 2026. It’s busy in 2026: it hosted the Tom Khoo Georgetown Pickleball Championship in September.
G.O.A.T Pickle Club (Jelutong)
- Area: 341 Jalan Jeti Jelutong.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. Parking was RM3 per entry in 2025.
- Indoor or outdoor: Roofed but open-air. No aircon.
- Courts: 12, on MAPEI flooring.
- How to book: Sports We Play, WhatsApp +60 11-2672 2499, or the club’s Facebook page.
- Prices: RM50 an hour on a standard court on weekday daytimes, and RM140 for a two-hour block on weekday evenings from 5pm, in its Sports We Play booking calendar. We couldn’t see a weekend rate.
- Hours: 7am to midnight, per its booking calendar.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: Midday heat and glare, and rain blows in during storms. The Penang Pickleball Lovers group runs social sessions here, which is an easy way in if you don’t have a four.
Ayer Itam and Gelugor
PickleSky
- Area: Sunshine Central mall, Ayer Itam.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab, with mall parking.
- Indoor or outdoor: Indoor, air-conditioned.
- Courts: 9, in several types (training, social, professional and VIP). The laminate surface is slightly uneven in places, according to reviews.
- How to book: Its own booking site, or at the counter. The site wasn’t loading when we tried it on 10 October 2026, so you may need to book at the counter.
- Prices: The rate card on its booking page runs from RM40 to RM90 depending on court type and time: training court RM40 off-peak and RM45 peak, social RM45 and RM55, professional RM50 and RM70, VIP RM60 and RM80, and SVIP RM70 and RM90. Off-peak is only weekdays 12pm to 4pm. The lower promotional rates on the same page were a Father’s Day offer that ran from 1 April to 30 June 2026 and has ended.
- Hours: 7am to midnight, with the last session from 11pm.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: The ceiling is low, so lobs are harder, and the off-peak window is short.
Pickle Lab
- Area: Level 4, Gembira Parade, Island Glades, Gelugor.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. You go up by lift, which a 2025 review called slow.
- Indoor or outdoor: Indoor, air-conditioned, per its Sports We Play listing.
- Courts: 6.
- How to book: Sports We Play, or WhatsApp +60 17-439 7808.
- Prices: RM55 an hour on weekday daytimes and RM70 an hour on weekday evenings, in its Sports We Play booking calendar. Evening slots are sold in two-hour blocks, and the VIP court costs the same as the others. We couldn’t see a weekend rate. Social sessions run about RM12 to RM18 per person, per PickleballInAsia.
- Hours: 8am to 2am, per its booking calendar.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: Run-off behind one baseline is tight.
Bayan Baru
Pickle Gen
- Area: Inside the Giant building, Lintang Bayan, Bayan Baru. About 15 minutes’ drive from the airport.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab, with free parking.
- Indoor or outdoor: Indoor, air-conditioned. A 2025 review found the aircon weak and the hall stuffy.
- Courts: 7, including 1 VIP court.
- How to book: AFA, or call +60 11-6844 5678.
- Prices: On a professional court, RM50 on weekdays from 8am to 5pm and from 10pm, RM70 on weekday evenings from 5pm to 10pm, and RM70 at weekends and on public holidays. The VIP court is RM65 and RM85 at the same times, and RM85 at weekends. A ball machine is RM50 an hour. These are from its AFA listing.
- Hours: Its AFA listing says 8am to 11pm daily, and its Reclub page says 8am to midnight, so check before booking a late slot.
- Paddle rental: RM5 to RM10, per its AFA listing.
- The catch: Little room at the sides and baseline, and no netting between courts.
Pickleland
- Area: D’Piazza Mall, Jalan Mahsuri, Bayan Baru.
- Getting there: Drive or Grab. Mall parking is paid.
- Indoor or outdoor: Fully indoor. Its own site and Sports We Play listing don’t mention aircon, and a 2025 review said there’s none and the rooflights cause glare.
- Courts: 9, built to PPA pro court size.
- How to book: Sports We Play, linked from pickleland.my/book, or WhatsApp +60 12-388 1612.
- Prices: On weekdays, RM55 from 8am to 5pm, RM70 from 5pm to 10pm and RM55 from 10pm to midnight. Weekends and public holidays are a flat RM55.
- Hours: 8am to midnight daily.
- Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
- The catch: Probably no aircon, glare from the roof, and you pay for parking.
Seberang Perai (the mainland)
Picker Pickle @ Juru Setia Sentral
- Area: Pusat Perniagaan Setia Sentral, Juru, Bukit Mertajam. Close to the expressway.
- Getting there: Drive. Street parking.

- How to book: Courtsite.
- Prices: Weekdays 10am to 6pm are RM38 an hour. Weekday evenings (6pm to midnight) and all day on weekends and public holidays are sold in two-hour blocks at RM116, which is RM58 an hour. Late slots from midnight to 2am are RM38.

Picker Pickle @ Vangohh Eminent

Hours: About 8am or 10am to midnight.

Paddle rental: Not confirmed.
-
The catch: The outdoor courts get rained on. Rained-out sessions can be rescheduled, but there are no refunds at all.
PickleCube
- Area: Pusat Perniagaan Alma, Bukit Mertajam.
- Getting there: Drive.
- Indoor or outdoor: 3 covered courts (courts 1 to 3) and 10 outdoor courts (courts 4 to 13), per its floor plan.
- Courts: 13.
- How to book: Playbypoint (picklecube.playbypoint.com), Sports We Play, or call 012-960 3369.
- Prices: A covered court is RM30 from 8am to 6pm and RM50 from 6pm to midnight. An outdoor court is RM20 and RM40 at the same times. These are from the price list on its floor-plan page, effective since 1 August 2025. Its Sports We Play listing also shows an all-day promotion of RM28 an hour, so ask which applies when you book.
- Hours: 8am to midnight.
- Paddle rental: RM5, per the same price list.
- The catch: Ten of the 13 courts are outdoors, so midday heat and rain matter more here than at the island halls.
Which court should you try first?
If you’re new and want somewhere cool, start with PickleSky or Pickle Lab, both air-conditioned. If you’d rather save money, Game On Pickle at RM45 an hour and the Bukit Mertajam courts are the cheapest regular options we found, and Pickleland’s flat RM55 weekend rate is good value for a Saturday. Pickle By The Sea is the place to go once you have a regular group, as long as you avoid the hottest hours.
If you don’t have three other players yet, join a social session. In Penang these run on Reclub, the free app most local clubs use, and cost about RM6 to RM28 per person. Penang Pickleball Lovers is one of the largest groups. Our guide to how open play works explains what to expect at your first one.
Other Penang venues we couldn’t confirm
Guides and directories also list Heritage Courts on Jalan Burma, Pickle & Co. in Komtar, Penang Pickleball Club in Juru, and several smaller outdoor courts in Tanjung Tokong and George Town. We couldn’t find 2026 evidence from the venues themselves, so we’ve left them out for now. If you run one of them, we’d like to hear from you.
