Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…) that tell one visit from the next, and sends Google the address of each page you open, including anything you searched for on the map, the page that linked you here, your browser and device, and your approximate location, which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. We use it to improve the site, not for advertising.

You can block these cookies in your browser's settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Google explains what it does with the data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Clicks to venues

When you follow a venue's booking or website link, we count the click: the venue, the kind of link, and the country your visit came from. Nothing else is stored with it: no IP address, no browser details and no cookie. The counts are kept for three months.

Your location

Near me asks your browser for your location, and only when you allow it. It's used on your device to sort venues by distance, and is never sent to us or to Google Analytics.

Services that see your visit

• Cloudflare hosts the site. It handles your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse.
• OpenFreeMap serves the map's tiles, which your browser fetches from it directly, so it sees your IP address too.
• Google Maps and Apple Maps open when you ask for directions, under their own privacy policies.
• Venues' own websites and booking pages are run by the venues, under their own policies. They can see that you came from softserve.club.

We don't sell what we collect, or share it with anyone else.
